TM starts to process NLIA requests
I have been receiving approval status this morning (4 March 2009) for my NLIA requests which I have put in since Nov 2008. Many of them got rejected, including my favourite keyword “cinema”. Reason given, “Reserved Keyword”. I reckoned that reserve keywords are reserved from begining and should not be allowed to be requested in the first place. I smell something foul here. *geram*
Update: After the keyword gets rejected, it is made available to the public to register again. What nonsense is this? Too free isit?
How about you?

A new flaw has been discovered in Internet Explorer and it could be used by hackers to steal information from users’ browsing certain infected websites. Currently the number of infected websites stands at 10,000. Any visits to these website using Internet Explorer will expose your PC’s information.
“Some security experts advised people to switch to a different web browser, such as Mozilla Firefox or Apple’s Safari, until a solution for the problem was developed by Microsoft. Irish security experts suggested this was not an option for most internet users.“

History: NETPIA NLIA trial run registrations were removed
According to this paper, after the trial run, the keywords registered during the trial run will be removed to make way for legitimate owners of keywords to apply via pre-registration. This happens in the year 2005 when Turkish started to test the NETPIA NLIA implementation. Will it be the same too for TM’s NETPIA NLIA trial run? It is not mentioned anywhere in the terms and condition on how the trial run will effect registered keywords.
The following text is extract from the paper.
Netpia Turkey was established at the end of April 2005, during the 12th anniversary of internet in Turkey. Following the company setup, procurements and team building, the initial project development and localizations continued until August 2005. The development was carried on all along throughout the different phases of the project and after in order to prepare for the subsequent phases and develop all the complementary products and services required.
In August, a Test operation was initiated. The objective was to let public in general have a feeling about the NLIA service, use the provisional linkings provided and test out temporary registrations. It was met by a high level of interest by many people around the country. As previously announced, at the end of the test period, the temporary registrations and linkings were removed from the database. In retrospect, allowing people to do temporary registrations, when there is not enough awareness of the system and its project phases, had created some confusion that became apparent at later stages. Having only the provisional linking to test out the system would be a better approach in this regard.
In September, Sunrise operation has started. The objective was to allow rightful owners to apply for pre-registration. Rightful owners would be government and academic institutions, companies with trade registration certificates or trademarks, people with their birth certificates, etc. As there were no precedence regarding the rightful owners, the approach was “first come first served” basis. This approach has become inherent for all registrations during and after the sunrise.
After a month of accepting pre-registrations, in October, registrations has started. This new phase was an extension of the Sunrise phase since registration were done after verification and with provided documentation supporting rightful ownership. The NLIA’s for all governmental and academic institutions were reserved to ensure that they point to correct addresses. The provisional linkings for government and academic institutions will continue to be provided for a certain period into the future.
This will be an interesting topic to do a case study on TM’s implementation of NETPIA NLIA.
How much does TMNET charge for NLIA TM Internet Keyword services?

I tried to use the Contact Us on the NetMyne website but it goes undelivered yesterday night. If anyone knows how much it will cost per keyword, please share.
Thanks.
UPDATE:
Just received another NDR. I wonder if there is anyone handling this customer service. Hmm..

Where does TMNET TM Internet Keywords works?
Nov 11, 2008 Tech News
I’m puzzled. Does the new TMNET/NETPIA TM Internet Keyword services only works at home where Streamyx line is used? Yesterday I tried at home and it works without flaw. Now, in the office, I tried, it goes to my default search engine. Not much information about it on NetMyne webpages. Looks like I got to wait further until they reveal more about this service.
